Karen has a degree in Multi-Media Arts, Film and Animation. At Heneka, Karen is in charge of the highly creative process of putting our wedding films together in the editing suite. Karen brings many years of experience in film making and storytelling through this exciting medium. Her passions are putting together the highly styleized highlights reels that feature in our wedding films. Hailing from Scotland, Karen is also an accomplished celtic glass artist.

Originally hailing from England, Neil has a Masters degree in communications engineering and a Ph.D. in recording technology. At Heneka Neil primarily focuses on the filming and technology aspects of the work. His passions are the filming itself, working on the High Definition aspect of the wedding films and trying new camera techniques and equipment to enhance the production quality of the weddings we film.

Neil and Karen were married in 2005 and have 2 children. They have lived in Colorado for 10 years.

For us our work is more than just making a living. We have a true passion for what we do - preserving the memories from the most special of days in anyone's life. It's an awesome responsibility and one that we take very seriously.

Our Style

On the day of filming, our presence is unobtrusive and very friendly. We focus on capturing the special, candid moments and then highlighting them by the use of beautifully crafted montages during the editing process. For our cinematic and combination style films we combine traditional documentary & cinematic filming techniques along with highlight reels set to music & live action to produce a wedding film that is truly enjoyable from beginning to end. Our clients continually tell us how much they and their families enjoy watching their films over and over again - the humor, the emotion and the magic all brought to life by our exemplorary filming, hard work and artistry in the editing suite.

Our Equipment

We use the latest in High Definition, broadcast quality camera equipment and wireless sound technology. We use Sony HVR-Z1U High Definition cameras for superior picture quality, fluid head tripod equipment for smoothness of shots and true diversity wireless sound systems for crystal clear and interference free sound. We always carry spares of all critical items. Our editing suite is equiped with some of the most sophisticated computer hardware you can buy and state-of-the-art non-linear editing software which allows us to truly maximize the creative process for your wedding film.
